The role of alternatives in a portfolio
Alternative strategies may complement a traditional portfolio in three ways: by diversifying the sources of return, by helping manage overall portfolio risk, and by providing access to strategies not typically available through conventional funds.
Alternatives also carry risks and costs of their own. They are not suitable for every investor, returns are not guaranteed, and some strategies limit liquidity or are available only to qualified investors. We encourage investors to review each fund’s offering documents with their advisor.
